Who I Am

I am an educational publishing leader with more than two decades of experience in mathematics education and 15 years in educational publishing. My work centers on helping turn curriculum goals, classroom needs, and editorial vision into learning resources that teachers can use with confidence and students can engage with meaningfully.

What I Do

In my current publishing leadership role, I lead mathematics learning resource development across the K–SHS portfolio. This includes editorial planning, manuscript development, content review, production coordination, and the creation of textbooks, worktexts, teacher editions, solutions manuals, curriculum maps, and supporting instructional materials.

My role brings together mathematics accuracy, curriculum alignment, instructional design, assessment development, and practical classroom usability. I work closely with authors, reviewers, editors, designers, illustrators, production teams, and business leaders to move ideas from concept to publication-ready products.

Beyond print, I have also helped originate blended print-and-digital programs, including numeracy and remediation resources supported by learning management system delivery. I am especially interested in how publishing can support teachers through clear pedagogy, well-sequenced lessons, meaningful assessment, and accessible digital extensions.

I also contribute to organizational planning, departmental priorities, OKRs, KPIs, and cross-functional initiatives that connect editorial work with broader publishing goals.

Before entering educational publishing, I served as a school principal and as a secondary mathematics teacher. Those classroom and school leadership experiences continue to shape the way I think about books, resources, assessment, and the realities of teaching and learning.

My current professional interests include mathematics education research, curriculum design, assessment development, EdTech integration, tutorial-video development, and the thoughtful use of generative AI in content ideation and instructional resource development.

My Approach

Mathematics resources should be accurate, coherent, usable, and purposeful.

That belief guides the way I review manuscripts, design learning sequences, collaborate with writers and editors, and support teams through complex publishing cycles. I value clarity over clutter, conceptual understanding over mechanical coverage, and editorial systems that help people do their best work.

I see educational publishing as both a creative and a disciplined process: it requires research, structure, collaboration, quality assurance, and constant attention to the learner and teacher experience. Whether developing a new series, refining a lesson, reviewing an assessment, or planning a digital companion, I aim to make mathematics more understandable, more teachable, and more connected to classroom realities.

Education and Continuing Growth

A continuing learner in mathematics education

My academic path has remained closely tied to mathematics teaching and learning. I am pursuing a Master of Arts in Education, Mathematics, with thesis work focused on mathematical proficiency, achievement emotions, feedback, and mindset cultures.

I also hold a Master of Arts in Teaching, Mathematics, with thesis work focused on the development and validation of mathematics modules for fourth-year high school students.

My undergraduate foundation is a Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in Mathematics and Minor in English. During that stage of my academic journey, I was a Commission on Higher Education scholar and received the Jose Rizal Award for Excellence.

Beyond the Page

I am a Licensed Professional Teacher and continue to engage in professional development in research, statistics, content validation, structural equation modeling, educational technology, and international publishing. Exposure to conferences and trade fairs such as Frankfurter Buchmesse, the International Conference on Teacher Education, and regional mathematics education events has broadened the way I think about content, rights markets, innovation, and the future of learning resources.
